About Us
The Village of Coldwater is a rural community with its emphasis on being
a great place to raise your family.
Whether it is our spacious parks, stoic churches, downtown
business district, hospital, or superior rated schools, our community
has so much to offer. The pride
of the residents and businesses is reflected in the beauty of their
property.
With a population of 4,427 residents, the Village of Coldwater is
located in the heart of Mercer County Ohio, the leading county in
agricultural receipts. Being
centrally located between Dayton, Lima, Ft. Wayne and Muncie, provides a
variety of opportunities for our citizens.

Coldwater is blessed with a diverse tax base including manufacturing,
commercial, and retail businesses.
Historically Coldwater was heavily dependent on the AGCO New Idea
farm equipment factory. Today,
New Idea is no longer in operation; however, the Village has been
fortunate to have several businesses occupy many of the former AGCO
buildings with room to grow.
The Village also has industrial sites available.
Our Village utilities have the capacity to allow for moderate
growth. With low utility rates,
Coldwater offers very competitive sites for all businesses.
The Village partners with the Mercer County Community Development
office to assist new and existing businesses to take advantage of State
and Federal programs.
Coldwater has been rated as one of the Ohio’s best places to raise a
family. Through careful planning
and consistent enforcement of the zoning code; Coldwater has allowed for
a progressive yet controlled growth.
Over 60 acres of public parks provides for endless activities.
Coldwater is an open opportunity for a high quality and a low
cost living lifestyle.
