Education / Worship
The Coldwater Exempted Village School District, an exemplary school system in Mercer County, Ohio enrolls 1495 students in kindergarten through grade 12, including students attending the Tri-Star Career Compact. The district is located on one campus site and includes the elementary and high school in addition to the west building which predominantly houses junior high school students.
The
Schools are full accredited by the State of Ohio, and the high school
has maintained a long and rich affiliation with the North Central
Association and their high standards of accreditation.
In addition to encompassing academic offerings where a commitment to challenging academic opportunity prevails, students have varied opportunities in the arts, interscholastic sports, music, and co-curricular programs.
The Students:
The typical Coldwater student is extremely motivated, curious, places a
high value on academic achievement, is loyal to his/her family, school
and community, and supports school activities through involvement.
Historically, Coldwater students have scored well on standardized tests, proficiency tests, and college admission tests. In 1990, 75% of the freshman class passed all four sections of the ninth grade proficiency test. The average ACT score for the class of 1992 was 20 in English, 22 in math, 20 in reading, 22 in science reasoning, and the composite was a 21.2.
The Teaching Staff:
The Coldwater teaching staff is dedicated, well-qualified, and
educationally prepared. The staff offers much experience, a blend
of youth and expertise in Coldwater classrooms.
An additional strength of the teaching staff is see in the continual interest shown in students as individuals, both in and outside the classroom. A number of our teachers assume the responsibility of a coach, director, or advisor in multiple extra-curricular areas.
Holy
Trinity Catholic Parish was founded in 1867.
The church congregation includes approximately 1300 families and the
church seats 900 people. Mass schedule includes a Saturday evening
mass, four masses on Sunday morning and a Sunday evening mass.

Coldwater
United Methodist Church was established in Coldwater in
1881. The present church was built in 1951 and seats 200 people.
Sunday School and Worship is held every Sunday morning.
