Education / Worship
The Coldwater Exempted Village School District, an exemplary school system in Mercer County, Ohio enrolls 1495 students in kindergarten through grade 12, including students attending the Tri-Star Career Compact. The district is located on one campus site and includes the elementary and high school in addition to the west building which predominantly houses junior high school students.
In addition to encompassing academic offerings where a commitment to challenging academic opportunity prevails, students have varied opportunities in the arts, interscholastic sports, music, and co-curricular programs. The Students: Historically, Coldwater students have scored well on standardized tests, proficiency tests, and college admission tests. In 1990, 75% of the freshman class passed all four sections of the ninth grade proficiency test. The average ACT score for the class of 1992 was 20 in English, 22 in math, 20 in reading, 22 in science reasoning, and the composite was a 21.2. The Teaching Staff: An additional strength of the teaching staff is see in the continual interest shown in students as individuals, both in and outside the classroom. A number of our teachers assume the responsibility of a coach, director, or advisor in multiple extra-curricular areas.
